Obituary
Erma Bernadine Grannemann, 93, of Festus, Mo. passed away April 6, 2017, at Crystal Oaks Assisted Living in Crystal City.

Erma was born on July 16, 1923, in Beemont to the late August and Malinda (Lefholz) Dothage. She was united in marriage to Elmer Grannemann in Beemont on Nov. 29, 1941. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Festus/Crystal City.

Erma and Elmer were long time residents of Gerald where they raised their family. At that time Elmer owned the Grannemann Brother’s IGA with his brother Herbert while Erma was a stay at home mother. In 1971 they moved to Owensville where she worked with him at the Town and Country Super Market. She also became the owner/operator of Belle Variety Store in Belle. After retirement they moved to Festus in 1998.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer; daughter, Janice Stolte; brothers, August Jr., Cliffton, Edgar and Leighland Dothage; and sisters, Adeline Koch, Pearl Rieke and Jewel Kuhn.

Her survivors include her son, Bruce Grannemann and wife Beth of Festus; son-in-law, Wayne Stolte of Festus; granddaughters, Michelle Knipple and husband Chris of Branson, Rebecca Roux and husband Derek of Festus and Lisa Hunning and husband Daniel of Roggen, Col.; Step-granddaughter, Courtney Grapperhaus and husband Brian of Dupo, Ill.; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 12 from 9-11 a.m. at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville.

Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Andy Blacksher officiating. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Stony Hill.
