Donald Lee Walter Meyer, 82, of Owensville, Mo. passed away Monday, April 17, 2017, at his residence.
Donald was born in Beemont on January 8, 1935, to the late Walter and Marie (Havelka) Meyer. On July 4, 1956, in Union he was united in marriage to Wanda Bandermann. He had served his country with the United States Navy. He was a member of Woollam United Methodist Church and Rosebud American Legion. He enjoyed gardening, farming, hunting, fishing and restoring old vehicles.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Kevin Meyer.
His survivors include his wife, Wanda of the home; sons, Leland Meyer of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Mike Meyer and wife Janis of Owensville; grandchildren, Aaron Meyer and wife, Kara of Owensville, Shane Meyer , Brooke Meyer both of Grand Rapids, Mich., Sagen Cooper and Ashley Cooper both of Owensville; and great-grandchildren, Tanner and Addilyn Meyer and Charlea Bossaller.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 20 from 4-8 p.m. at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home Chapel in Owensville. Legion services will be at 6:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be on Friday, April 21 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel with Pastor John (Jack) Kurrelmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Countryside Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
