Obituary
Ross Bennett Johnson of Holts Summit, Mo. departed this life on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at his residence in Holts Summit. He had reached the age of 69 years and 26 days.

Ross was born in Kansas City, Kansas on April 22, 1948, a son to Charles and Beverly (Brown) Johnson. He was married to Jenny Cook on January 5, 1973 in Bland, Mo. He got his nursing education from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, enjoyed photography, hunting and fishing, and was a great storyteller. He served his country in the United States Army for 18 months in Vietnam.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Beverly and Charles Johnson and by several brothers and sisters-in-law.

His survivors include his wife, Jenny Johnson; two sons, Reiley Dawsen and wife Chucheep of Peoria, Arizona and Paul Dawson of Tuscon, Arizona; one daughter, Tanya Dawson and husband Kenneth Warner of Las Cruses, New Mexico; two brothers, Charles (Chuck) Johnson and wife Bev of Columbia, Missouri and Nels Johnson of Forest Lake, Minnesota; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ken Cook and wife Reba of Keithville, Louisiana, Larry Cook and wife Claudia of Jefferson City, Mary Cook of Owensville, Eileen Cook of Jackson, Missouri, Nancy Clark of Brinktown, Missouri; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Joseph Dawsen of Peoria, Arizona; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville with Pastor Dennis Spurgeon officiating. He will be buried at Bland Union Cemetery in Bland, Mo. with full military honors. Visitation will be Monday, May 22, 2017 from 4 to 8 PM at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville.
