Walter Bruce Kinsley, 74, of Rosebud, Missouri, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017, at his residence.
Walter was born in Philadelphia, Penn., on June 15, 1942, to the late William and Iris (Hoffman) Ross. On July 22, 2006, in Rosebud, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Wehmeyer-McCurry. He had served as mayor and police officer for the city of Gerald. He enjoyed drag racing, camping, and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Kinsley; and brother-in-law Ralph Bollman.
His survivors include his wife, Marilyn of the home; children, Doug McCurry and wife Tina, Darin McCurry and Derick McCurry all of Rosebud, Walter Kinsley of Levittown, Penn., Georgeann Owens-Howard and husband Ronnie of Bland, George McCurry and wife Sonia of Rosebud, Dana Shetley and husband Dave of Bourbon, Robert Kinsley and wife Cathy of Memphis, Tenn., Lydia Gore and husband Aaron of Rosebud, and Karen Wise and husband Jamie of High Ridge; siblings: Iris Kinsley of Philadelphia, Penn., James Ross and wife Joanna of Malaqua, N.J., Barbara Ross McGowan and husband Dan of Philadelphia, Penn., Deborah Hocker and husband John of Honeybrook, Penn., Nancy Zudans and husband Andrew of West Chester, Penn. and William Ross and wife Jean of Elkton, Maryland; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harlan and Priscilla Wehmeyer of Rosebud and Carolyn Bollman of Falls City, Texas; grandchildren 18; great-grandchildren five; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be on Saturday, June 17 from 9-11 a.m. at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home Chapel in Owensville.
Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel with Pastor Joel Pike officiating. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Rosebud.
