Avis Ray (Ruth) Nuetzmann, 92, of Owensville, Mo. passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at her residence.
Avis was born on Dec. 31, 1924, in Finger, Tenn. to the late Gilbert and Fleetie (McCormick) Burkeen. She was first married to James Ruth on August 28, 1943, then to Kenny Burch, and on Feb. 14, 2011, to Kermit Nuetzmann, Jr. She was a member of Full Gospel Church in Owensville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, James Ruth and Kenny Burch; son, Max L. Ruth; siblings, Thomas Burkeen, Irene Riley, Roy Burkeen, Truman Burkeen and Mary Jo Underwood.
Her survivors include he husband, Kermit; children, Joann Brewer of Battlefield, Mo., Donald Ruth and wife Brenda of Valparaiso, Ind., Brenda Woodland and husband Jim of St. Peters, Linda K. Brewer of Owensville, Glenda Smith and husband Earl of Kansas City, Harold Ruth and wife Vicki of Panama City, Fla., Calvin Ruth and wife Donna of Owensville and Michael Ruth of Warsaw; siblings, Pauline Cunningham of Rockford, Ill., Jewel Walker of Caruthersville, Ed Burkeen of Memphis, Tenn., Jerry Burkeen of Florissant, Bobby Burkeen and wife Joann of Broken Arrow, Okla., Lois Holland and husband Bill of Waverly, Tenn., and Connie Mullinks of Kenneth, Mo.; grandchildren, 22; great-grandchildren, 38; and great, great-grandchildren, 8.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 6 from 4-8 p.m. at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home Chapel in Owensville.
Funeral services will be on Friday, July 7 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel with Pastor Terry Coldwell and Pastor Leslie Dority officiating. Burial will be in Owensville City Cemetery.
