Billie Joe Crain, 86, of Gerald, Mo. passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017, at his residence.
Billie was born in West Frankfort, Ill., on Nov. 22, 1930, to the late Clay and Reba (Bandy) Crain. On August 11, 1949, in Piggott, Ark. he was united in marriage to Patricia J. Chatham. He was retired from General Motors after 30 years of service and he also owned ZZ Electric. He enjoyed quail hunting and was a master gardener.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Rachel Crain; and sister, Virginia Riggs.
His survivors include his wife, Patricia of the home; son, Clayton Crain and wife Pam of New Melle; daughter, Barbara Grillion and husband John of O'Fallon; sister, Andrea Parker of Dekalb, Ill.; grandchildren, Leslie Robledo, Cheyenne Wuellner, Clayton Wuellner, Jessica Vargo, Cassidy Ballard, Sidney Wuellner, Caleb Wuellner, Angie Williams, Randall Crain, Megan Thebeau and Brandon Crain; numerous great-grandchildren and several great, great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 10 from 9-11 a.m. at Gottenstroeter Chapel in Gerald.
Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel with Pastor Kevin Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in United Methodist Cemetery in Leslie.
