Hazel Caroline Pierce, 99, of Owensville, Mo. formerly of Gerald passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Gasconade Manor Nursing Home in Owensville.
Hazel was born on June 30, 1918, in Columbia, Ill. to the late William and Mary (Wilde) Jahr. On June 8, 1939, in St. Louis she was united in marriage to James Pierce. She was a member of The Ridge Church of Gerald, The Garden Club of Franklin County, she enjoyed sewing and reading, had been a scout leader and an alderman for the city of Hillsdale.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; sons, Paul and Russell Pierce; daughter, Mary Stoker; granddaughter, Tiffany Stoker; brother, James Delmar; and sisters, Catherine, Oleda, Clarice and Violet.
Her survivors include her sons: Richard Pierce and wife Pat of Gerald, Norman Pierce of Wentzville and Joe Pierce and wife Cindy of Overland; sons-in-law, James Stoker of Gerald; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 12 great, great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 18 from 4-8 p.m. at Gottenstroeter Chapel in Gerald.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 19 at 10:30 a.m. at The Ridge Church of Gerald with Pastor Roger Johnson officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Pagedale.
