Amos Oscar Berger, 91, of Owensville, Mo., passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017.
Amos was born in Owensville on July 10, 1926, to the late John Herman and Martha (Brehe) Berger. He married Bernice Langenberg at Bethel Presbyterian Church on July 31, 1949. He then married Annette Grawey at his home on October 19, 2006. He had served his country with the United States Army. He was a member of St. James United Church of Christ at Charlotte. He enjoyed farming, golfing, hunting, spending time outdoors and time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bernice; his wife, Annette; brothers, Gerhardt, Julius and Joel Berger; and sisters, Flora Thompson, Talitha Berger and Vasthi Hilkerbaumer.
His survivors include his children, Dennis Berger and wife "Bobbie" of Owensville, James "Jim" Berger and wife Kathy of St. Louis, Barry Berger and wife Tyra of Wichita, Kansas and Cindy Homeyer and husband Bill of Owensville; brother, Freemont "Fritz" Berger of Owensville; sister, Adella Mueller of Owensville; grandchildren, Justin Berger and wife Karen, Julie Hines and husband Brian, Ryan Gregory and wife Sarah, Sarah Uballez and husband Kevin, Kristin Papek and husband Brent, Kelly Phoenix and husband Craig, Jeremy Homeyer and wife Cheri, Lance Homeyer and wife Kelly, Jordan Berger and Lane Berger; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 24 from 9-11 a.m. at St. James United Church of Christ at Charlotte.
Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Van Lahmeyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery at Charlotte.
