John Joseph Davis, 71, of Owensville, Mo. passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at his residence.
John was born on December 6, 1945, in St. Louis to the late Leo and Catherine (Busch) Davis. On January 1, 1992, in Katy, Texas he was united in marriage to Judith Coppedge. He had served his country with the United States Army. He was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, he served as past Exalted Ruler of BPO Elks - Katy #2628 and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Owensville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Christopher McLafferty.
His survivors include his wife, Judy of the home; daughter, Carrie Celsur and husband Christopher of Canton, Texas; sons, Patrick McLafferty and wife Rita of Wildwood and Matthew Davis and wife Crystal of Sealy, Texas; sister, Cathlee Swain of Owensville; brothers, Jerry Davis and wife Barbara of New Jersey and Herbert Davis of Arlington, Texas; and grandchildren, Hannah, Hailey, Garrett and Jada Celsur, Christopher and Jack McLafferty and Paisley Jo and Adalynn Davis.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 9 from 4-8 p.m. at the Gottenstroeter Chapel in Owensville.
Burial will be on on Friday, November 10 at 9 a.m. at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis with full military honors.
