Armin Clarence Enke of Owensville departed this life on Monday, March 19, 2018 at St. Clair, Missouri. He had reached the age of 93 years, one month, and 14 days.
Armin was born on February 5, 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri to William and Lydia (Pietraschke) Enke. He served his country overseas from 1944 to 1946, in Germany. He fought in Central Europe and received the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon. He also received a Bronze Battle Star, a Victory Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal. He was life member of VFW Post 6133. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in excavating for many years and at MFA in Owensville. He enjoyed deer hunting. He was a member of St. John's UCC Church of Bem.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Beulah Rutz; brothers, Raymond Enke, and Donald (Duke) Enke.
His survivors include his son, Dennis Enke and Rachel Bethel of St. Clair; his daughter, Karen Willimann and husband Gary of Rosebud; two brothers, Art Enke and wife Erma of Owensville, and Paul Enke and wife Sharon of St. Peters; his sister, Mildred (Mickey) Treece and husband Donald of Cuba; two granddaughters, Shelby Enke and Isabelle Enke.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 11 AM at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Heather Arcovitch officiating. Burial will be at St. John's UCC Cemetery at Bem with full Military Honors. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 21, from 4 to 8 PM at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville with a VFW Ceremony at 7 PM.
