Martha Ceta Smith passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 in Owensville, Missouri at the home of Mike and Debra Lear. She had reached the age of 87 years, nine months, and 13 days.
Martha Ceta Smith was born June 6, 1930, to Forrest and Lorene Smith in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Greenfield High School, Greenfield, Illinois and attended Blackburn College, Carlinville, Illinois. February 26, 1954 she married Clarence V. Beck Jr. at St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Carlinville, Illinois. She was a fan of Gospel music and was interested in handicraft hobbies such as jewelry making, crafting wooden puzzles and ceramics.
Preceded in death by her daughter, Claudia Shaughnessey.
Survived by her stepdaughter, Nancy V. Beck of Altamonte Springs, Florida, her daughters; Katherine Beck-Korst (Rick Korst) of Western Springs, Illinois and Constance Beck ( Terry Manchester), of Los Gatos, California; son-in-law, Steve Shaughnessey of Springfield, Illinois, and grandchildren; Katie and Chloe Korst, Charles and Margaret Manchester, and Connor Shaughnessey.
Her ashes will be scattered at a future date near Big Piney, Wyoming, a place she loved.
