Velma Berniece Hinson, 82, of Chesterfield, Mo., formerly of Belle, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018, at Delmar Gardens on the Green in Chesterfield.
She was born to Frank and Iva (Spurgeon) Collier on November 30, 1935, at Mt. Zion, Ill.
She was united in marriage to James Wesley Hinson on March 6, 1954, at Owensville.
Velma had been a tracer at Brown Shoe Co. in Owensville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Iva Collier; husband, James Hinson; son in infancy; grandson, Travis Webster; brothers, Charles Collier and George Collier; sisters, Elizabeth Laubert and Evelyn Eller; and son-in-law, Keith Webster.
She is survived by her children, Wesley Hinson and wife Brenda of Grover, Bill Hinson and wife Tamie of Washington, Davine Webster of Belle, Shelline Wilson and husband John of Belle, Debby Hinson of Manchester and David Hinson and wife Donna of Belle; grandchildren, Danielle Webster, Laura Hinson and boyfriend Hillel Zweig, Nathan Hinson, Kaitlyn Hinson, Tanner Hinson and wife Kelsie, Abby Hinson and Alex Hinson; and great-grandchildren, Damien Niederer and girlfriend Sue, Trislynn Webster and Tara Webster.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 8 from 9-11 a.m. at Gottenstroeter Chapel in Owensville.
Funeral services will follow at 11:00 at the Chapel with Rev. John Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Countryside Memorial Gardens in Owensville.
