Eva Mae Epperson, 71, of Bland, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at Gasconade Manor Nursing Home in Owensville.
She was born on February 24, 1947, to Ollie and Mae Dell (Johnson) Sipes at Oktaha, Okla.
She was united in marriage to Irven "Carl" Epperson, Jr. on May 29, 1965, at Oktaha, Okla., and during this union, two children were born.
Eva and Carl lived most of their 53 years of marriage in Bland. Eva worked at the Owensville Bowl and Walmart in Owensville. In her later life, she was a homemaker. She loved all of her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Eva was affectionately known as "Mean Maw Maw" to them. Eva was an avid St Louis Cardinal fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Mae Dell Sipes; daughter, Melissa Cunningham; brothers, Wesley, Eddie and Bennie Sipes; and sister Wilma Hamby.
She is survived by her husband, Irven "Carl" Epperson Jr. of Bland; daughter, Dawn Hoss and husband Tim of Ft. Myers, Fla.; son-in-law, Greg Cunningham of Bland; brothers, Gale Sipes and Cecil Sipes both of Oktaha, Okla., and Denzel Sipes of Fort Smith, Ark., Sybil Davis of Bixby, Okla.; grandchildren, Brandi Schwab and husband Ryan of Bland, Tyler Hoss and wife Jodi, Brendon Wiles of St. James and Taylor Cunningham of Belle; and great-grandchildren, Logan, Emberlyn, Zoey and Brayden.
Visitation will be on Monday, August 13 from 4-8 p.m. at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville.
Graveside services will be on Tuesday, August 14 at 1:00 p.m. at Old Bland Cemetery in Bland with Rev. Bruce Elmore officiating.
