Helen Berniece Ruffner of Owensville departed this life on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Gasconade Manor in Owensville. She had reached the age of 89 years seven months, and 18 days.
She was born in Kansas City, KS on April 8, 1929 a daughter to the late Oliver and Ruby (Butler) Decker.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth O. Ruffner on February 19, 1948 in Owensville, Mo.
She enjoyed oil painting, quilting, ceramics, cooking, and handcrafts. She had been a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Bland since 1940. She taught Sunday School and was the church treasurer for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Ruby Decker, her husband, Kenneth Ruffner; four sisters, Erlene Vincent, Sherra Fleischmann, Betty Thompson, and Edith Decker; and one brother, Charles Decker.
She is survived by one son Dennis Ruffner and wife Karen of Lake Jackson, TX and one daughter, Kathy Ruffner of Owensville; one brother, Billy Decker and wife Nancy of Gerald; one sister, Patsy Vincent and husband Larry of Warrenton, Mo., one granddaughter, Kitrina Meyer of Jefferson City, Mo.; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Renkemeyer and wife Hope of Jefferson City and Jordan Renkemeyer of Jefferson City; and two great-great-grandchildren, Madeline Renkemeyer and Lydia Renkemeyer of Jefferson City; and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
