Russell Branson, 73, of Washington, Mo., formerly of Owensville, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Russell was born in Linn on May 20, 1943, to the late Robert John and Gladys (Ridenhour) Branson. On September 29, 1962, at the First Baptist Church in Owensville he was united in marriage to Betty Carroll. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Owensville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Branson; son, Gary Branson; and sisters, Katie Herndon, Shirley Murphy, and Arlena Roberds.
His survivors include his children, Dr. Steve Branson and wife, Kristy of Nashville, Tenn., Dr. Terri Higgins and husband, James of Nashville, Tenn., and Sherri Elbert of Washington; sister, Susie Leasor and husband, Robert of Cherryville; and by seven grandchildren, Kile, Olivia, Savannah, Shiloh, Sidney, Fender, and Vox.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 27 from 9-11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Owensville. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jim Muir officiating. Burial will be in Countryside Memorial Gardens in Owensville.
