Adella Anna Mueller, 102, of Hermann, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, at Frene Valley Nursing Home in Owensville.

Mrs. Mueller was born at home on the family farm in Gasconade County at Charlotte, near Drake, on April 18, 1916. She was a daughter of the late John Herman and Martha (Brehe) Berger. She was baptized and confirmed at St. James Evangelical Church, near Drake. She attended the Kiehl School receiving an eighth grade education. She worked as a domestic in St. Louis prior to marriage and additionally at the McQuay Plant there. Later she worked for International Shoe Co. in Hermann.

Adella was the widow of Edwin L. Mueller of Hermann. They were married October 25, 1946, at St. James Church at Charlotte. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2003.

As a homemaker, Adella loved flowers and gardening, quilting, crochet, and sewing of various kinds. She was an excellent cook, baker, and homegrown produce preserver. She was an avid letter and card writer. She taught her family the art of thrift. She persisted in pondering on spiritual truth and was faithful to visit the sick. She enjoyed entertaining friends and family and playing pinochle. She loved her grandchildren.

At age 91 she entered Victorian Manor in Hermann, then Frene Valley Nursing Home in Hermann at age 95, and finally Frene Valley Nursing Home South in Owensville at 98 years of age.

Adella is survived by two daughters, Carol E. (Stanley) Kallmeyer of Nampa, Idaho, and Lois (Jim) Schaeffer of Hermann; by seven grandchildren, Megan (John) Bohl, Timothy, Benjamin (Kimberly Rohlfing), Faithe Schaeffer, Kyle (Melodi Bierman), Karl (Taryn Nichols) Kallmeyer, and Kate Anne (Blaine) Martell; by fifteen great-grandchildren, Sophia and John J. Bohl, Levi Schaeffer, Naomi, John, Halli, Elizabeth, Alexis, Katianna, Olivia, and Michael Kallmeyer, Ocean, Lilly, Carly, and Dylan Martell; by one brother, Freemont Berger of Owensville; one sister-in-law, Janet Mueller of Hermann; and by eight nieces and eleven nephews.

Adella was preceded in death by her husband and parents; three sisters, Talitha Berger, Vasthi Hilkerbaumer, and Flora Thompson; by five brothers, Gerhardt, Julius, Joel, Amos and an infant brother, Berger; by eleven sisters-in-law, Ella King, Corene Meier, Stella Cannon, Betty Berger, Lucille Mueller, Anne Berger, Hazel Mueller, Eleanora Gumper, Leona Berger, Bernice Berger, and Gladys Tucker; by nine brothers-in-law, Orval Mueller, Raymond Meier, Ralph Cannon, J.B.. King, Milfred Hilkerbaumer, William Thompson, Milton Gumper, Louis Thompson and Clif Tucker; by three nieces, Darlene Nelson, Elizabeth and Elaine Cannon, by one nephew, Ray Meier Jr. and one great-grandchild, Anneka Adelia Bohl.

Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville with interment at Oak Haven Cemetery, south of Hermann with Bishop Matt Coleman officiating.
