Leona Anna Idel, 93, of Owensville, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Capital Region Hospital in Jefferson City.

She was born on Nov. 13, 1925, to August and Anna (Fleer) Hesemann at Drake.

She was united in marriage to Raymond George Idel on June 9, 1946, at Union.

Leona was a member of Zion-St. Paul United Church of Christ in Bay where she belonged to Women's Fellowship. She was a member of the University of Missouri Extension Counsel for many years and had also served as a Woollam 4-H leader. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, quilting, cooking, and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Anna Hesemann; husband, Raymond Idel; daughter, Doris Ridder; and brothers, Clarence, Paul, George, Hubert, Raymond, and Benjamin Hesemann.

She is survived by her children, Robert "Chuck" Idel and wife Pam of Owensville, Roger Idel of Columbia, and Norma Anderson of Lake Ozark; son-in-law, Dale Ridder of Bay; grandchildren, Doug Ridder, Dustin Ridder and wife Tricia, and Derek Ridder all of Bay, April Jardes and husband Brian of Lenexa, Kans., Clara Decker of Osage Beach, Berkley Idel of San Francisco, Calif., Ryan Idel of St. Louis, James Anderson of Lake Ozarks, and Lauren Crisman and husband Stephen of Osage Beach; great-grandchildren, Decker and Duke Jardes of Lenexa, Kans., and Trace and Trigg Ridder of Bay.

Visitation will be on Saturday, May 18 from 9-12 a.m. at Gottenstroeter Chapel in Owensville and then from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. at Zion-St. Paul United Church of Christ in Bay.

Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Zion-St. Paul United Church of Christ in Bay with Pastor Darrel Deeker officiating. Burial will be in Countryside Memorial Gardens in Owensville at 4:30 p.m.
