James Edwin Schoenfeld, 76, of Owensville, Mo. passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016, at his residence.
James was born on July 20, 1940, in St. Louis to the late Edwin J. and Rose Ellen (Bailey) Schoenfeld. On April 26, 1973, in East St. Louis, Ill. he was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Cooksey. He had worked as an assembler for General Motors for 30 years and later had his own business, Jim's Towing and Auto Repair, for 25 years. He was a member of Owensville Moose Lodge.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Schoenfeld and brothers, Robert Schoenfeld and Albert Bailey.
His survivors include his wife, Barbara Ann of the home; children, James Schoenfeld Jr. of Ekron, Kentucky, Edwin Schoenfeld and wife, Dina of Rosebud, and Suzy Wolfe of Owensville; sisters, Helen Hoke of Sullivan, Viola Schoenfeld and Bernice Garland both of Union; and by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 17 from 4-7 p.m. at Gottenstroeter Chapel in Owensville. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Terry Knight officiating.
