Donald A. Hoss, 79, of Ft. Myers, Fla., entered into eternal rest on July 28, 2020.
He was born on December 29, 1940, to Alvin Issac and Alice Martha (Branson) Hoss in Owensville.
Don worked in the automobile industry, holding many positions at General Motors, Volkswagen and Chrysler. During his career, he received recognition for several innovative patents for shipping and storage equipment. He became a member of the Masonic Lodge in 1998 and a Shriner in 1999. He also served as a city councilman for Sylvan Lake, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Alice Hoss; son, Jeffrey Hoss; grandson, David Hoss; and second wife, Roxanne Boleski Hoss.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Brown Hoss of Ft. Myers, Fla.; his first wife, Patricia Hicks Zoll of Owensville; son, Timothy Hoss and wife Dawn of Ft. Myers; daughter, Donna Mistler and husband Rick of Owensville; brother, William Hoss and wife Opal of St. Peters; sisters, Edith Jost and husband Stanley of Owensville and Ramona Slovensky and husband Charles of Dacula, Ga.; grandchildren, Brandi, Tyler, Emily, Donald, Nick, Daniel and Kylee; and great-grandchildren, Allison, Logan, Tanner, Emberlyn, Taelyn, Gabriel, Rhett, Teegan, Kinsley and Jax.
A memorial service will be held at Leduc United Methodist Church, Highway B, Bland, Mo. on Sept. 13, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. with John Slovensky as the officiant. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Due to the increased cases of Covid 19 in Gasconade County the memorial service has been cancelled.
