Leroy "Willie" Versul Wilson, 93, of Owensville, Mo., passed away Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021, at Frene Valley Stonebridge of Owensville.
He was born April 4, 1927, to Versul and Clara (Eastling) Wilson in Fairbeau, Minn.
He was united in marriage to Marcella Joyce Myers on Sept. 16, 1946, in Lewiston, Idaho.
Leroy had served his country with the United States Navy for 35 years as a Chief Petty Officer. He was a lifelong member of VFW Post 6133. He was a gold miner, enjoyed panning for gold and making custom made jewelry and also enjoyed playing golf.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Versul and Clara Wilson; brother, Donnie Wilson; and sister, Emily Wilson.
He is survived by his wife, Marcella “Sunny” Wilson of Owensville; daughter, Pamela Wilson and significant other Charles "Dinger" Ammerman of Owensville; son, Rodney Wilson and wife Shirley of Owensville; grandchildren, Stephen Leonard and wife Tanya of Fallon, Nev., Heather Peregine and husband Rob of Colorado Springs, Col. and Misty Dawn Davidson of Pensacola, Fla. and several great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren.
His body was cremated and no services are planned at this time.
