Dorothy "Dot" Katherine Suttner, 98, of Owensville, Mo. passed peacefully away on Sunday, January 8, 2017, at Frene Valley Healthcare in Owensville.

Dorothy was born in Moselle, Mo. on May 21, 1918, to the late Jacob and Frances (Hanneken) Gaasch. On April 19, 1941, in Robertsville she married her one and only true love Clemence "Butch" A. Suttner.

Competitive by nature over the years you could find Dot playing cards, enjoying the outdoors, fishing, snowmobiling, golfing or sitting by a TV watching her favorite team the St. Louis Cardinals. Dot also loved traveling and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she belonged to Our Lady's Sodality and was very active both in the church and the sodality.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clemence "Butch" Suttner; son-in-law, David Sassmann; brothers, Henry, Richard, Victor and Hugo Gaasch; sisters, Alvina Hanneken, Gertrude Heil, Marie Brown and Betty Ingals.

Her survivors include her daughters, Sue Sassmann of Belle and Sally Boyer and husband James of St. Louis; sister, Frances Purschke of Union; two grandchildren, Scott Sassmann and wife Sue of Wentzville and Julie McFadden and significant other Chris Schoo of Pacific; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Bella and Abby Sassmann, Charity and Morgan McFadden and Parker and Logan Schoo.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 11 from 9-11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Tom Santen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
