Obituary
Charles "Chuck" Moritz, 84, died Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at his home near Owensville, Mo.

Chuck was born February 19, 1932, in St. Louis to the late Francis (Taft) and Mabel (Sherman) Moritz. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Rose Koenigsfeld on January 31, 1959, at St. Mary Magdelene in Brentwood. They were happily married 45 years. He served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War.

His wife preceded him in death; his parents; grandson, Aaron Hengstenberg; and brothers Frank and Don Moritz.

His survivors include his children, Bridget Hengstenberg of Owensville, Becky Cawley and husband Larry of Raleigh, NC, Connie Farris of Jefferson City, Chuck Moritz and wife, Christine of Owensville, Beth Saunsaucie and husband John of Owensville, Rich Moritz and wife Dawn of Ashland, Jim Moritz and wife Carolyn of Owensville and Bob Moritz of Owensville; a brother Paul Moritz and wife Edith of Springfield; sisters, Myra Lea, and Lois Wells and husband Dale of Springfield; grandchildren, Andrew, Adam, and Lily Hengstenberg, Emily Stroup and husband Eric, Molly Cody and husband Alex, Danny, Grant, Jimmy, Anne Marie and Lizzie Cawley, Maddi, Haley, Cole and Ali Farris, Cy, Luke, Logan and Sadie Moritz, Jess, Sam, Alex and Jon Saunsaucie, Ashton and Anna Moritz, Tayler, Alex, and Sydnee Moritz, Olivia and Drew Moritz; and great grandchildren, Halle, Sawyer, Leena and Lucy Hengstenberg, Bryce and Kinsley Stroup and Layla Harris.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 26, from 4-8 p.m. at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home Chapel in Owensville.

Funeral services will be on Friday, January 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the chapel with Rev Nick Geisert officiating. Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Owensville with full military honors.
