Perry Austin Ratcliff, 82, of Owensville, Mo., passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Lebanon, Mo.
Perry was born on January 26, 1935, in Columbia to the late J.W. and Virginia (Gilmore) Ratcliff. On January 9, 1965, in Union he was united in marriage to Gail Burt.
Perry began his career when he was only sixteen years old working with his father at Debs Shoe Factory in Owensville. Perry worked in many shoe factories in many different states to include Puerto Rico throughout his life. He was an avid golfer who truly loved the game. He once shot a hole in one on the second hole at the Owensville golf course.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Joe and Donald Ratcliff and sister, Mary Issaccison.
His survivors include his wife, Gail; children, Kris Scott and husband Andy of Waynesville, Belinda Ahring and husband Billy of Owensville, Maria Walter and husband Darren of Belvidere, Ill., Deborah Ray of St. Peter's; brothers, John Ratcliff of Sacramento, Calif., Harold Ratcliff and wife Betty of California, Mo. and Gerald Ratcliff of Jefferson City; sister, Virginia Rapier of Bentonville, Ark.; grandchildren, Kristopher Scott, Andy Scott Jr. and wife Carly, Jacob Scott, Tyler and Taylor Ahring, Perry Ratcliff, Hunter Kreter, Ross Walter, Jordan, Megan, Timothy and Kyleigh Ray; and two great-grandchildren, Adyn and Katherine Scott.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 8 from 9-11 a.m. at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home Chapel in Owensville. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Terry Knight officiating. Burial will be in Countryside Memorial Gardens in Owensville.
