Obituary

Gaylord Charles Jett, 80, of Owensville, Mo., passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Gasconade Manor in Owensville.

He was born Aug. 16, 1941, to Marvin Sr. and Clara (Maciejewski) Jett in Rosebud.

He was united in marriage to Glenda Crites July 25, 1959, in Steelville.

Gaylord was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.  He opened G&G Welding shop in 1979 in an old turkey barn and expanded it to a large welding fabrication shop.  As the business grew, so did the building as he added on three or four times over the years and operated it for over 40 years.  He enjoyed spending time there with his employees and spending time at his farm, especially deer hunting.

Gaylord spent pretty much his entire life on the property he called home.  He enjoyed traveling, especially a trip to Alaska and most of all  he enjoyed spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Sr. and Clara; siblings, Marvin Jett Jr., Margaret Paasch and Irene Crombie; and sister-in-law, Sheila Jett.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda of their home; daughter, Crystal Ray of Owensville; granddaughters, Lexie Strothkamp and husband Luke of the Strain/Japan area and Bianca Ramirez-Alverez and husband Jorge of the country of Mexico; great-grandchildren, Shane Ray, Benjamin, Jett and Eliana Ramirez, Blair, Kabella, Kamille, Jebediah and Weslee Strothkamp: brothers, Bill and Kenny Jett both of Owensville; and brother-in-law, Buford Crites of Palm Desert, Calif.
