Obituary

Linda Faye Williams, 65, of Leslie, Mo., passed away Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur.

She was born Nov. 8, 1956, to Bernard and Jetherine (Aycox) Kent, Sr. in Little Rock, Ark. She was raised by Lena Mae Kent.

Linda’s life of love began at a very early age. She absolutely loved people and her heart of hearts revolved around helping others, listening, encouraging and inspiring everyone that crossed her path. She was gifted with the ability to make people feel seen, heard and important. Linda enjoyed music, singing, watching classic westerns, her cats and going to church. God blessed her with a voice that ministered to all under the sound of her anointing. She was an active member of both Calvary New Life Tabernacle in Gerald and Cornerstone Apostolic in Owensville. Her life’s work included early childcare, school bus driver, nutrition, and food service with assisted living centers. These segments all honed her talent to care for people of all ages. After health related retirement, she would continue her circle of care as a volunteer at both the Gerald and Owensville Senior Centers.

She was preceded in death by her birth mother, Jetherine Kent; her mother who raised her, Lena Mae Kent; brothers, Bernard Kent, Jr. and Marvin Kent, sisters; Marlene Kent Owens and Karen Kent, and brother-in-law, Robert Gary, Sr.

Her survivors include her father, Bernard Kent, Sr. of St. Louis; daughter, Andrea Kent Schmid and husband John of Leslie; brothers, Edward Lee Bonds of St. Louis, Willie Earl Bonds of St. Louis, Gary Kent and wife Vaneese of Killeen, Texas, and Alphonso Kent and wife Lynnette of San Antonio, Texas; sisters, Evelyn Kent of Houston, Texas, Victoria Wadley and husband Charles of St. Louis, Jacqueline Gary of St. Louis, Jeanette Smith and husband Fred of St. Louis, and Bernice Crenshaw and husband James of St. Louis; and one grandson, Courtney Schawn Williams and wife Ashley.

Visitation will be Saturday, Oct. 29 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Calvary New Life Tabernacle in Gerald.

Funeral services will follow visitation Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Sheila Bowens and Bishop Dan Maxwell. Burial will be at Countryside Memorial Gardens in Owensville with Bishop G.L. Kent officiating.
