Obituary

Allen Ray Scrivner, 75,  of Bland, Mo., passed away October 21, 2022, at  Stonebridge in Owensville.

He was born Sept. 3, 1947, to Mildred "Millie" Gleize Lipchak in Springfield.  He was raised on the family farm by his grandparents, Walter and  Naomi Gleize.

He was united in marriage to Arlene Massman Dec. 19, 1970, and they had two  children, Kurt, and Kristie.  He later married Donna Dace May 12, 1997.

Allen graduated from Owensville High School in 1965, pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Missouri in Rolla until enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1970. He honorably served as a Missile
Systems Analyst Specialist with the 351st Missile Maintenance Squadron, achieving the rank of Sergeant before being released from active duty in 1974. He returned to the farm where he grew up outside of Bland, and spent the rest of his life farming and raising cattle.  He was well known for custom baling, his annual hog roast, and delivering propane.

Allen was a simple man. He preferred dessert over any meal, especially if it was a piece of apple pie. He never knew a stranger, and loved telling stories with his neighbors and friends over a cold beer or morning coffee. Allen’s greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren and his dogs.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred; grandparents, Walter and Naomi; and aunt, Vida Gale.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; their children, Kurt and wife Lyn,   Kristie Scrivner and Kelly Stevens; grandchildren Brant, Laurynn J. and Chad, Alison, Rebecca, Shae, and Patrick; former wife and friend, Arlene; loving family, Denise Bullock, Dave and Danielle Verkamp, Debbie Wilson, Ivan and Pat Gleize; devoted friends, Simon Radamacher, Jeff Tallent and sons,Trey and Aiden; his guardian angel, Jami Dzurian and family; cousins, neighbors and friends who became family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Activity Fund for Residents at Stonebridge Senior Living, Owensville.

The family invites all who knew and loved Allen to a Celebration of Life at the White Mule Winery near Rosebud on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 3-7 p.m.
