Obituary

Maryann Vandegriffe, 89, a lifelong resident of Owensville, Mo., passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, at her Peaceful Valley family home.

She was born Oct. 19, 1933, to John and Victoria (Brinkmann) Schalk in Owensville and grew up on the Brinkmann family farm.

She was united in marriage to Gary Vandegriffe May 28, 1976, in Union.

Maryann enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, fishing, quilting and doing puzzles, games and Facebook on her tablet. She loved gardening, her dogs and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Maryann worked at Custom Printing for 23 years and took great pride in her work.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Victoria; son, James Crider; and sister, Delores Storie.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Gary of their home; children, Dennis Crider and wife Joni of Yuma, Ariz., Debra Crider-Epler of Lakewood, Colo., Linda Crider-Sieker and Missy Vandegriffe both of Owensville, Kenny Vandegriffe and wife Belinda of Gerald, and daughter-in-law Kim Hildebrandt of Florida; grandchildren, Ryan Wofford, Emele Porter and husband Adam, Matthew Sieker, Jeremy Vandegriffe and wife Tiffany, Ashley Crider and husband Shawn McFarland, Michael Sieker, Alyse Davis and husband Jeff and Christen Casalou and husband Darwin. Maryann was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren.

God blessed our family with the most wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother and grandma-great. She will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 10 from 9-11 a.m. at Gottenstroeter Chapel in Owensville.

Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel with Chaplain Dean Hollenbeck officiating. Burial will be in Countryside Memorial Gardens in Owensville.
